The Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) saw its centralized securities custody reach 19,140 billion CFA francs at the end of 2023, compared to 17,861 billion CFA francs in 2022, representing a growth of 7.16%.

The announcement was made on January 18, 2024, by the Director General of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank, Birahim Diouf, during the annual meeting with Regional Financial Market stakeholders at the new DC/BR headquarters in Abidjan-Plateau.

The announcement was made during a signing ceremony between the Managing Director of DC/BR, Birahim DIOUF, and his counterpart from Ghana’s CSD, Michael MENSAH. 

Birahim DIOUF has been appointed as the new Director General of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR). His appointment was confirmed following the Board of Directors meeting held on June 7, 2022, at the institution's headquarters. Effective from July 1, 2022, this appointment marks a significant milestone in the process of granting greater autonomy to the central structures of the UEMOA Regional Financial Market.

Abidjan, February 26, 2024 – The Director General of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) of UEMOA, Mr. Birahim Diouf, met on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Abidjan, with the Professional Association of Management and Financial Intermediation Companies of UEMOA (APSGI/UEMOA).  

This meeting took place during a visit by the Director General of DC/BR to the new headquarters of APSGI, located in Riviera Cocody, in the eastern part of Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire.  

The Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR) informs account holders and custodians that the Directorate General of Treasury and Public Accounting of Côte d'Ivoire will proceed with the payment of annual interest and the partial repayment of the principal for the bond loan named "TPCI 5.80% 2020-2027" on Thursday, February 29, 2024, for a total net amount of 21,289,664,560 CFA francs, tax-exempt.

Abidjan, March 6, 2024– The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR), Mr. Faman Touré, and the Director General of DC/BR, Mr. Birahim Diouf, were received on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in Abidjan by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), Mr. Adama Coulibaly.
