Membership to the DC/BR
Management and brokerage companies, as well as banks within the UMOA, are authorized to operate as account-keeper custodians on behalf of clients. For this purpose, they receive accreditation.
The accreditation of SGIs and account-keeper custodian banks falls under the jurisdiction of the AMF-UMOA, following the binding opinion of the DC/BR regarding the account-keeper custodian function.
Once accredited, they are admitted as members of DC/BR operations.
Market participants with an account at the DC/BR are considered members. These include:
- Management and brokerage companies (SGIs)
- Account-keeper custodian banks (BTCCs)
- Issuers
- Other entities accredited by the AMF-UMOA.
Due to their status and their role in maintaining securities accounts in the name of investors, issuers are automatically recognized as members of the DC/BR.
