Organization
The regional financial market is run by the following players:
- central market structures: the Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières (BRVM) and the Dépositaire Central/Banque de Règlement (DC/BR);
- commercial players: management and intermediation companies (SGI), asset management companies (SGP), stock market investment advisors, business introducers and direct marketers.
These various players are licensed by AMF-UMOA.
AMF-UMOA is the regulatory body overseeing the UEMOA regional financial market. It was created on July 03, 1996, by a Convention signed by the seven member countries of the UMOA before Guinea-Bissau joined the Union on July 7, 1997.
