
Dakar, July 25, 2024 – The Governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), Mr. Jean-Claude Kassi BROU, received in audience on Thursday, July 25, 2024, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Central Depository/Settlement Bank (DC/BR), Mr. Faman TOURE, and the Director General of the DC/BR, Mr. Birahim DIOUF, at the institution’s headquarters in Dakar.
This meeting provided an opportunity for Mr. Faman TOURE to review the various stages of the autonomy process that led to the establishment of independent management of the DC/BR. The DC/BR delegation also provided an update on the 2021-2025 Business Plan and the key priorities of short-, medium-, and long-term strategic projects.
In this regard, the Governor of the BCEAO highlighted the challenges facing the sub-region’s economies and provided guidance to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Director General of the DC/BR to help them successfully fulfill their missions for the development of the Union's regional financial market.
